I’m getting ready to send our Indian Travel Visa Applications in tomorrow for our 6 month visas. For those of you interested in finding out visa requirements on any country you want to visit please click here. We have narrowed our visa work down to the basics of India – which is required ahead of travel. Most of the other countries we would be able to get the visas in the airport or through other means. Australia has a slick version of getting your visa over the internet which is quick and easy. We may also look at getting a visa for Nepal ahead of time depending on our time and cost. Getting visas also means having passport photos which can be time consuming and even costly depending on where you go. In this day and age being a “do-it-yourselfer” is pretty easy when it comes to passport photos. Good light, a white background, and any digital camera makes photos simple. That and a great website called http://www.epassportphoto.com/ . Simply take your photo, edit if needed, and upload to this site. You’ll be able to crop to the required size (very easy) and then choose the option to print the photos yourself. Save the file (I also did a little Photoshop cut and paste to take out the one “ad” corner of the file and replaced with another copy of the photo). Then you can sign up for a free Snapfish account and simply order some 4×6 prints. For every print you get 6 passport photos. If you wait to get the prints directly through Snapfish all you pay is S&H because of the 50 free prints for signing up. I chose to have the prints go to my local Walgreens and paid $2.50 for 12 prints (36 passport sized photos for both Erinn and I)… easy and a WHOLE lot cheaper than the $10 I paid for photos when I went to AAA to get my international drivers license!
